How we make grants

Grant-making is the responsibility of the Board of Trustees who receive guidance and recommendations from a grants committee and the IDCF's staff members.

Groups working in the Blackwall, Millwall, Limehouse or East India & Lansbury wards who wish to apply for Fast Track or Standard Grants can discuss their application by ringing 020 7345 4444 and then completing a form. The form is assessed and presented to the Grants Committee at a monthly meeting where a grant recommendation is made.

The Board of Trustees considers and approves the Grants Committee's recommendations, after which, applicants are notified of the outcome. The processing time of grant applications vary from one to eight weeks depending on timing of application, and which fund you are applying to.

Grants approved to organisations based within Limehouse and East India & Lansbury are funded through the Canary Riverside S106 programme award to IDCF by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

We aim to help groups make successful applications and to support them throughout the process. We welcome proposals from new and established groups for small sums to pay for one-off activities such as social outings or events, or for larger grants to support paid members of staff, tutors, and training.

All grantseekers should discuss their potential applications with the Foundation's Director before forms are completed and submitted.
