IDCF Today
As a community foundation IDCF's activities and funding are often responsible for making things happen and bringing people together.
Established as a registered charity (No. 802942) in 1990, IDCF has built strong relationships with both private and public sector organisations to help address key issues faced by local communities in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
Not only an effective grant-maker using its own financial resources, IDCF has successfully managed grant programmes on behalf of the London Development Agency, Tower Hamlets Council and Poplar HARCA.
Our key financial supporters include Barclays Capital, Canary Wharf Group, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and State Street Bank.
Alongside its grant giving role, IDCF successfully delivers employability skills programmes leading to jobs for local people in sectors spanning security, childcare, catering and community development.
In the past 20 years, we have encouraged communication and partnership working amongst the not-for-profit sector which has led to the creation of several effective networking groups including Docklands Youth Services and Docklands 50+ Forum. The result of which has seen improved services for young people and elders.
